Alliance for Learning selects ‘Mindful’ PSHE partner ahead of subject changes

The Alliance for Learning Teaching School has announced a new partnership with Jigsaw, a specialist Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE) provider, in preparation for the relaunch of its PSHE Hub.

Jigsaw provides a comprehensive PSHE teaching and learning programme for ages 3-16, a spiral curriculum including the statutory RSHE requirements and is underpinned by mindfulness.

The collaboration will build on the existing training that Jigsaw is delivering to The Alliance for Learning’s Specialist Leaders in Education (SLEs) to bring a mindful, whole school approach to PSHE.  As a result of the partnership, the teaching school’s 90-plus partner organisations will be able to access expert advice and resources as part of the new Alliance for Learning PSHE Hub.

Lisa Fathers, Director at Alliance for Learning Teaching School, comments: “As a teaching school we always aim to lead best practice, drawing on the very best knowledge, expertise and resources available to help our schools feel fully prepared for changes in any subject area.  Our relationship with Jigsaw will ensure our schools feel fully supported when the new PSHE guidance comes into effect in September.”

Jan Lever, Creator and CEO, Jigsaw PSHE, says: “We are delighted to add Jigsaw’s expertise to the forward-thinking work on health, wellbeing and RSHE across the Alliance for Learning Hub and the North West as the teaching school shares our joint passion for PSHE and wellbeing.  Together we can help prepare children for life, while empowering schools to deliver effective teaching and learning strategies.”
