Introduction to Outdoor Learning & Play

If you are new to working at a particular age or stage, are recently qualified and want to know more about quality outdoor learning and play, then this is an ideal course for you. We explore a range of ways of developing your outdoor provision and practice that are low cost and doable.

Aims

  • To develop an understanding of the breadth and depth of outdoor learning and play
  • To look at how to get started and to develop routines and strategies to ensure this is a daily part of your practice in the early years, and at least weekly in primary school, all year round
  • To further develop your outdoor learning and play through the active involvement of children in your class or school

At least 50% of this course takes place outside.  You need to come with suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and season.
