Purpose, Values and Perspective

This valuable one hour session will equip those in attendance to:

  • Reconnect with your sense of purpose and professional values and understand how they can support your wellbeing.
  • Know how to maintain a sense of perspective so you can focus on what really matters (and let go of the rest)

This session is led by Adrian Bethune and Emma Kell, who are two experienced teachers with over 30 years’ in the classroom between them. In this 60 minute session, they’ll share the latest research and practical ideas from their new book A Little Guide to Teacher Wellbeing and Self-care (SAGE, 2020).

Emma Kell has over 20 years’ experience teaching and as a middle and senior leader. Emma is a senior teaching fellow for the IoE, a specialist leader in education, and teaching school lead for an AP teaching alliance in Bucks. She is the author of How to Survive in Teaching (Bloomsbury, 2018).

Adrian Bethune s a part-time teacher at a primary school in Aylesbury and the education policy co-lead at the Mindfulness Initiative. He also delivers wellbeing-focused training in schools across Europe through his organisation www.teachappy.co.uk. Adrian is the author of the award-winning Wellbeing in the Primary Classroom: A Practical Guide To Teaching Happiness (Bloomsbury, 2018).

Cost: This session is FREE OF CHARGE for members of our RSHE hub. For other schools we are offering this training at a cost of £45 per person.
