With teaching methods that have been tried and tested over the last 30 years, and through the incorporation of key learning theories, such as Piaget, Dienes, Bruner, Skemp and Vygotsky, Singapore has become a ‘laboratory of maths teaching.’ This has seen them rise to the top of the international rankings for TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) and PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) for mathematics.
It is a two-day course, which allows time and space for planning and reflection on this revolutionary approach, providing you with the best chance to use this method successfully while using Maths — No Problem! Textbooks.
You’ll learn about using our programme to provide exploration in class, reflection and assessment. Plus, how the programme allows for extension and advanced learners, as well as for supporting the struggling pupils.
Our Singaporean expert will cover the Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract approach, the effective use of questioning to encourage deep mathematical thinking, bar modelling and problem solving.
