CPD Programme for ICT and Digital Leads (pilot)
This programme will be aimed at school leaders or Multi Academy Trust leaders with a whole school or cross trust strategic responsibility for ICT and digital solutions. The main focus of this programme is to ensure that leaders drive effective ICT strategies with knowledge, confidence and impact. The course will empower participants to develop informed digital strategies and to effect change and adoption within their organisations. Participants will be introduced to a range of digital solutions and will be required to use them with their course peers and – where feasible – within their own professional practice. All users will also be expected to undertake a small-scale digital research impact initiative, where they develop a strategy for and lead on the adoption of a new digital solution within their classroom, their school or their Trust.
The programme will comprise three full-day sessions. Workshops will include a mixture of theoretical input and also case studies and interactive discussion amongst participants. There will also be pre- and post- course activities, and three virtual web-based sessions. Participants will also be directed to a range of online resources and courses and all will be encouraged to embark on an appropriate IT accreditation – such as Microsoft Innovative Educator, Google Certified Educator or Apple Distinguished Educator.
This course will run as a pilot in 2019/20 and participants will, through their participation and feedback, help to co-create its future content and structure.
The on-site workshops will focus on:
- Developing Effective Digital Strategies
- Understanding the EdTech landscape and future trends
