Global Learning Programme

Today’s children and young people are growing up in an uncertain and rapidly changing world.

The Global Learning Programme (GLP) aims to help schools to prepare their Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils for this changing world by supporting teachers in understanding development education and feeling more confident in delivering global learning to their pupils.

Global learning work can also be used to show evidence of meeting Ofsted inspection requirements, particularly around Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development (SMSC) and ‘British values’.

  • deliver SMSC and respond positively to the current focus on British values
  • help pupils make sense of the world in which they live and to understand their role within a global society

Key benefits for schools

  • Have the chance to develop a sustainable network of like minded teachers who you can share resources with and support one another as you develop Global Learning in your school.
  • Access to free CPD via the E-credits programme.
  • Develop bespoke learning resources for your students.
  • Free take away resources you can use the very next day to promote Global Learning.

What does it involve?

The GLP supports schools to start on their global learning journey by training teachers, demonstrating how to embed good practice across the whole school and enabling teachers and schools to take control and ownership of their global learning practice. Teachers will benefit from the practical peer-led support of the three sessions that their local Expert Centre will provide, networking with colleagues from like-minded schools. In this way, the GLP will work with schools to embed global learning into their everyday practice and make it sustainable in the long term.

Be part of a team of like minded teachers who tailor a global learning programme which suits their school contexts and challenges our students perceptions of the world they live in, take them outside of their boxes and take yourself on a learning journey.  You also gain £500 of CPD E-Credits for your school when you sign up today.
