Roma Culture Awareness Training

Why Roma Support Group?

As one of the main Roma-led charities in Britain,we have over 21 years of frontline experience in improving the social, political and economic position of Roma refugees and migrants in Britain. We draw on the knowledge and insight we have developed through our work to provide up-to-date case studies and expert guidance in our training sessions.

The Programme

An increasing number of professionals working in schools, councils and public services are now involved with complex cases concerning Eastern European Roma families.

Our training will equip you with the skills necessary to engage more effectively with Roma families, and knowledge that will increase your confidence and improve your decision-making abilities.
We do this through interactive presentations in our one-day session, which will:

• Enhance understanding of the cultural history of Roma communities

• Analyse barriers to accessing services

• Identify culturally sensitive issues

• Explore key concerns affecting Roma children and adults

• Develop practical tools for engagement and outline models of good practice
